| Braving the Cold: A Winter Walk to Remember Earlier this month, about 15 of our CLT team members bundled up and showed their support at this year’s annual Winter Walk, standing in solidarity with individuals experiencing homelessness. Despite the cold and snowy weather, the turnout was strong, demonstrating the power of community and collective action. The Winter Walk raises critical funds for organizations working to end homelessness in Boston by supporting housing, healthcare, and direct services for those in need. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to participate in this meaningful event and are thrilled to continue our partnership with Winter Walk. Looking ahead, we’re excited to share that CLT will be an official Winter Walk beneficiary next year, allowing us to further our mission and deepen our impact. Thank you to everyone who supported this year’s walk—your generosity and commitment help ensure that individuals experiencing homelessness receive the resources and support they need to find stability and rebuild their lives! |
| The CLT Transportation Fund: Listening, Responding, and Taking Action When CLT board members sat down with our residents, they heard firsthand about the daily challenges people face – especially when it comes to something as basic as getting to a medical appointment. One resident’s story stood out: the long, expensive, and complicated process of simply reaching a doctor’s office. It was clear that transportation barriers were making life harder than it needed to be. While some public transportation and taxi assistance is available, it’s often wrapped in red tape and not widely accessible. Recognizing this gap and listening to the needs of residents, the board took action and created the CLT Transportation Fund – designed specifically to help residents get to medical and health-related appointments without unnecessary obstacles. With full support from the board, CLT is now ensuring the fund is managed effectively and goes directly to those who need it most. Through private donations and contributions from board members, we’ve already hit our initial $12,000 goal – and we’re not stopping there! Additional funds mean more residents will have access to the transportation they need. This fund is about more than just financial assistance. It’s about truly listening to residents, understanding their needs, and taking meaningful action. If you’d like to be part of this effort, consider contributing to the CLT Transportation Fund. Every donation helps break down barriers and ensures our community has the support it deserves. |

| Get to Know Our Residents – Roy Roy’s story is one of resilience, healing, and finding home again. A former mental health and behavioral health professional, Roy had built a stable life with his family on Long Island. However, a traumatic car accident in 2007 left him with severe injuries, PTSD, and an inability to maintain employment. As a result, he lost his home and found himself homeless for the first time in his life. Struggling with depression and substance use, Roy spent over a year in a veterans’ shelter, working with counselors and medical professionals to regain stability. The turning point came when he learned about CLT’s Bolton Manor. Despite initial fear and uncertainty, he was met with understanding and support from the CLT staff, who guided him through the housing process. Now, at 63, Roy has found not just housing, but a true home. He describes his apartment as the best living situation he has ever had, a place where he feels safe, supported, and hopeful about the future. His journey reminds us of the power of stable housing in restoring dignity, security, and joy to those who have experienced homelessness. Mark your calendars for a community block party in October and stay tuned for more details – we can’t wait to celebrate with you! |
Nearly 20,000 of our neighbors in Massachusetts are unhoused—and this number is likely an undercount. Together, we can take action to make homelessness rare, brief, and non-recurring. Visit our Facebook page for resources, information, and ways to get involved. Keep up with us on Facebook |
