Commonwealth Land Trust volunteers and interns are a vital part of our organization. As a thank you for their hard work and dedication, CLT hosts quarterly volunteer lunches. These events are a great opportunity for volunteers to meet those serving in different departments and talk about their experiences in and outside of CLT. Past volunteer lunches have been held at Fire and Ice, Haley House, and My Thai Cafe. CLT volunteers also attend biannual company outings, participating in events like canoeing, bowling, and navigating a corn maze.
At our residential buildings, volunteers and interns lead various activities for our formerly homeless clients, including movie nights, game nights, coffee hours, barbecues, book clubs, art classes, support groups, women’s groups, holiday celebrations, and service trips. Volunteers greatly enhance the supportive services we provide to our residents and bring an invaluable enthusiasm to our team.
CLT provides verbal and written references for volunteers and interns who have excelled during their time here. Recommendation letters can be tailored to specific graduate programs and employment opportunities. Former CLT volunteers have gone on to pursue careers in law, business, medicine, and the nonprofit sector. Our communications & grants manager sends out quarterly e-newsletters to inform past volunteers of current CLT happenings.
