The City of Boston has a free Financial Navigator service to help residents manage financial issues and income disruptions due to COVID-19. The service’s trained Financial Navigators are available by phone to help residents identify immediate action steps to manage expenses and maximize income. They also make referrals to community-based and city services available free of charge to address critical financial issues brought on by the pandemic.
Residents can access the Financial Navigator service by completing this web form or calling 617-356-8229 to sign up for personal help. They will need to provide their name, zip code, language preference, phone number, and email address. The Financial Navigator will then send a short service agreement and call the client to begin their personal session. Financial Navigators are able to assist directly in English, Haitian Creole, Spanish and Portuguese. They also have access to a translation service in 20 other languages.
